WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Report to the Director, Communications.
  • Lead the execution of programs, tactics and initiatives within AMA’s Corporate Responsibility Plan.
  • Play an active role in identifying, developing and maintaining lasting stakeholder and partner relationships across Alberta in support of AMA’s Corporate Responsibility Plan.
  • Provide leadership to the Community Engagement team, including AMA’s School Safety Patrol team.
  • Sustain and grow community engagement initiatives and events with well-considered strategies and plans.
  • Work in collaboration with other business areas to ensure key community initiatives, events and programs—both internal and external—are executed effectively.
  • Oversee the development and mobilization of AMA’s member volunteer program.
  • Be responsible for planning and executing AMA’s 100th anniversary celebration.
  • Oversee internal community programs.
  • Provide all budgeting and reporting for community programs and events to ensure we’re meeting our goals and being good stewards of AMA resources.
  • Travel throughout Alberta, as required, to attend meetings and oversee events. This includes some weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • Assess team performance, provide any necessary coaching, authorize work schedules, and manage volunteers.

WHAT YOU’VE DONE

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree or certificate in Business, Communications/PR, Volunteer Management, or related field.
  • You have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in related roles.
  • You have a minimum of three (3) years of experience managing a team.
  • You have a demonstrated experience in project management and event management.
  • You have strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • You have strong computer skills, are highly organized, and adapt easily to new technology.
