WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Report to the Manager, Payroll and HRIS.
- Process the bi-weekly payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
- Audit and validate payroll processing information.
- Reconcile payroll processing prior to the bank file transfer – validate reports.
- Verify payroll processing is compliant with Federal and Provincial regulations.
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial employment standards, regulations and legislation.
- Ensure payroll system data is complete, accurate and consistent.
- Audit and validate electronic timesheets to make sure employees are paid correctly.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Address internal and external payroll inquires.
- Escalate, when required, payroll issues to the Senior Payroll Coordinator.
- Generate all bi-weekly and/or monthly payroll reports.
- Produce ad hoc reports as needed.
- Collaborate with a team to achieve organizational goals and successful bi-weekly payroll processing.
- Complete the payroll cycle according to legislation.
- Participate in projects and support company initiatives.
WHAT YOU'VE DONE
- You have Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification.
- You have a business diploma, accounting certificate, or equivalent work experience.
- You’re no newbie. You have at least three years of payroll processing experience in a mid-to-large multifaceted organization.
- You have at least a year of work experience with non-integrated Time & Attendance systems.
- You have a strong understanding of full-cycle payroll and are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – especially Excel.
