Join our Data & Analytics team to lead ensuring that the Association is using machine learning and advanced analytics responsibly to deliver the highest level of service to staff and members.  You have responsibility for the research, development, interpretation, and deployment of machine learning and predictive models in support of understanding and predicting member behaviour to organizational drive decision making.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Report to the Senior Manager, Data.
  • You'll strive to develop and maintain a sound understanding of business processes across the Association to help with your data science efforts.
  • Build and deploy robust machine learning models which are grounded in solving specific business problems.
  • Build state-of-the-art machine learning best practices, including model selection, training, evaluation, pipelines, storage, deployment and ongoing governance.
  • You’ll be responsible for leadership of our co-op students as part of our strategy to recruit and retain talent via an ongoing data science pipeline and funnel.
  • You’ll provide adequate training for your team, fully understanding business priorities and link those priorities to a proper data and machine learning strategy.
  • You’ll strive to develop and maintain a sound understanding of business processes across the association to help facilitate:
    • Consistent business logic and confident business partnerships,
    • Minimal errors in interpretation of requirements and execution of analyses,
    • Consulting with business areas to deliver analytic value on an operational and ad hoc basis.

 

WHAT YOU'VE DONE

  • You have an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics or another quantitative field.
  • You have at least seven (7) years’ experience in data science, machine learning, predictive modeling, deep learning and/or natural language processing.
  • You are proficient in best practice machine learning model development and deployment methods.
  • You are proficient in AWS architecture, including SageMaker, for machine learning model development, deployment, MLOps, CI/CD.
  • You have strong and proven leadership skills.
  • You have strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • You are proficient with statistical programming languages (R, Python) and relational databases/SQL.
  • You have strong experience in Containers and Kubernetes.
  • You have experience in AWS Personalize.
  • Ideally, you have experience with distributed computing frameworks (Spark, Hadoop, etc).
